Ring of Hell  is excellent in its research and exploration of how wrestling can be fraught with sadistic individuals that are only too willing to prey upon those hoping to "live their dreams." What happened with Chris Benoit, his wife and young son was tragic in every sense of the word, but, as the book details, how can you not expect such an insane demise for individuals participating within such an insane world? As each part of Chris Benoit's career is detailed - starting in Stu Hart's "Dungeon," idolizing "The Dynamite Kid" (a woefully tragic individual in his own right), working within the Stampede Wrestling Promotion, moving on to Japan and then ultimately becoming a star in the ECW, WCW and WWE promotions - you see how a naive individual participates in ritualized abuse and then succumbs when steroid and medication abuse compounds the damage received over multiple years.
