This week we talk to the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to South Africa, Ms Trine Rask Thygesen. We discuss the progress of gender equality, remarking on the positive gains female leadership has made in the public sector, notably governments in some Nordic and African countries, in contrast to significantly lower levels in the private sector across the globe. In consideration of gender gaps, issues of unconscious bias, diversity, assertion, professional networking are addressed. We highlight the forthcoming Women Deliver conference which takes place in Copenhagen Denmark from 16-19 May. It will host the world's largest conference on the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women in the last ten years with delegates from 150 countries. The main aim of the conference will be on how to implement the Sustainable Development Goals with respect to women, emphasising maternal, sexual, and reproductive health rights. Tune in for more….
