Was Really excited to play again for Distrikt this year. Jamie Shwabl and AdamRoss started the day out nicely with some slower and deeper stuff. Then I had a blast playing some of my favorite music- mixing between deep, techy, funky, electro and classic BUMPIN HOUSE MUSIC. I definitely appreciate that the DISTRIKT crew mixes it up with a nice variety of DJ's and isn't focused on booking headliners all week. It's great that they mix a few headliners in (&amp; was sweet to hear Thugfucker (Holmar) there on Friday. And That Funktion One they brought this year was REALLY NICE and CRISP. The DISTRIKT crew are some true professionals on and off the playa. Always great to work with them in SF on parties at Public Works. And then in the desert- DISTRIKT is easily the best day sound camp and I always love to spend a few afternoons rockin out to some big beats with their amazing party vibe. It's also been an honor to play for their camp on the playa.  Was happy to get the invitation to make a new mix for the DISTRIKT podcast. In my usual style I wanted to put together an eclectic set of some of my favorite tunes at the moment- mixing up deep house, tech house, techno and indie vibes with some vocals, lots of percussion &amp; fat bass lines. DISTRIKT was easily my favorite sound camp this year (and in years past with The Deep End). Proper sound system, really pro crew of people, consistently solid, bumpin' tunes (with no concern about headliner DJs), blended fresh fruit cocktails all day (seriously?), always a fun vibe and you can pretty much count on finding some of your favorite people there. So YES- I was really stoked to be asked to play a set at DISTRIKT this year. It had been a while since playing a big sound system so I made sure to get lots of sleep the night before and to have 30 or 40 tunes in mind going into it. As you can tell from the mix or listening to the set live- I generally like to keep my sets pretty eclectic- bumpin house to techno to deep house, a little electro, breaks, funky latin stuff, classics, remixes and so on. Considering I haven't played out very much over the last year (since helping open and run the club Public Works in SF) I feel like the set went pretty well. I hope people enjoy it and pass it on to their friends.
