In this episode we talk with Lisa Whop about the politics of Indigenous health research, who gets to do it, and how epidemiology and biostatistics do not simply produce neutral data. Associate Professor Whop is from the Wagadagam tribe and Panai Clan of Mabuiag Island in the Torres Strait. She is an NHMRC Early Career Research Fellow and epidemiologist at the Australian National University and Australia’s leading authority on cervical cancer control in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
