This week, I am super excited to welcome my friend and amazing Yoga Teacher, Rae Scharfman to the Spiritual Spiral Podcast. Rae currently teaches regularly at Y7 and Wanderlust, two of the most popular studios in LA and she's definitely become one of my favorite Yoga teachers for sure. So we'll talk about Yoga, what it's like teaching in a city oversaturated with teachers, how she got into teaching and she'll share her thoughts about the competitive yoga culture in LA. We talk music, art, social media, definitely Instagram and why she sometimes keeps her phone turned off for extended periods of time. I ask her how she feels after posting naked photos on Insta, we dive in and talk about her upbringing, and we discuss the polyamory lifestyle and how it is something she has embraced. It’s the two year anniversary of my podcast and since I already have a personal podcast episode once a week I thought I’d celebrate this moment by bringing back one of the most impactful guests I had during the inaugural year of JustEricson. Rae Scharfman was as close to a stranger as you could get when I interviewed her almost a year ago the day after meeting her at one of my shows and now surely is one of the closes friends I’ve had in Los Angeles if not my life since. In this interview we talk about my enigmatic outlook, how I take better care of my emotions than my body, and a few choice memories we shared together.

So this is one of those unusual episodes that ends up being a personal favorite of mine even though it's a bit long and unconventional. This episode was a hard edit. So much actually ended up on the cutting room floor and I probably could have trimmed it even more ruthlessly but I really enjoyed the topics we covered and the places our conversation went.  I literally met Rae for the first time the night before we recorded this episode when my friend Joe Wasson (who guested on a previous episode) brought her with him to one of my shows. I'd always wanted to interview someone who had just met me and after hanging out for two hours Rae was more than excited to come on.  In this interview we try to cut deep and talk about the one that got away, what I think the world owes me, and why I belong in ACA.
