There is no light or sound, the temperature of the water and the air is the same as that of your body and you feel like you are floating in space. You get a chance to disconnect from the world and focus on your thoughts, and you get a sense of profound peace and relaxation, deep concentration and increased creativity.Jesse is the co-founder of Float Toronto, a floatation centre in Toronto, Canada. Jesse is a Holistic Nutritionist, a freestyle frisbee player, and a former varsity basketball point guard out of Mcgill University in Montreal.Anand is a yoga instructor and floatation specialist, with a range of practices including Mindfulness Meditation, Floatation Therapy and Competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.Jesse and Anand talked about the benefits of floatation therapy and the fascinating history behind sensory deprivation tanks. About Jesse, his partners and this amazing therapy for busy lives and minds: Many people fall in love with floating after just one experience in the tank – we’re no exception to that rule. We first floated in 2011 and have spent the last 2 years or so trying to figure out how we could introduce this powerful experience to more people. At first it was a weekly stroll through the forest, dreaming up the perfect float centre and strategizing as to what that manifestation would look like. Two years later, we are opening one of the largest float centres on the east coast here in Toronto.Our motivation to create this centre stems from our belief that floating, as a practice, can provide benefits to the majority of people who decide to lie down in a float tank. Floatation is amazingly simple, very powerful and extremely versatile.  People are drawn to floating to find relief from physical discomfort and stress, encourage personal development, or simply for some peace and tranquility. Inevit
