Gene and cohost Tim Swartz present Anna Maria Manalo and Tom Conwell, authors of The Night Visitants: A Ufologist, An Experiencer And The Undefinable. Manalo was raised in suburban San Juan, an hour north of metropolitan Manila. During childhood, her neighborhood was an active hotspot for ghosts, apparitions and other entities. These experiences led to her interest in the supernatural after her father’s tragic death from a demonic infestation in their home. Her personal experiences with the bizarre has led to a lifetime quest investigating sightings and paranormal events thru eyewitness reports.    A screenwriter of science fiction and the supernatural, Anna has over 11 screenplays which have placed in prestigious competitions in the United States, pitching screenplays to producers such as Lionsgate, Weinstein and Blumhouse. On today’s show, author and investigator Anna Marie Manalo joins me to discuss her re-released and updated book, Portal: A Lifetime of Paranormal Experiences.    Anna has been a supporter of the show, so it was lovely to have her back on to discuss Portal on Mysteries and Monsters.    Portal is a book of two parts, the first focuses on a family in the Philippines who have become the unwitting tether to something malignant that has stayed with them for the best part of 70 years.    Anna discusses how these series events could have begun, some of the incidents that have occurred and how they have learnt to deal with it over time.     The second half of the book focuses on some of the interviews and cases Anna has investigated around the world and the people effected by strange phenomena.
