Early Days with Joe Gore

One of the most diversely talented musicians I’ve spoken with, Joe is a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist fluent in everything from classical music to punk rock. He’s also licensed his music to well-known movies and television shows… he’s a paid consultant and a major independent developer for Apple’s Logic, GarageBand and MainStage Programs… he’s developed an incredible line of fuzz pedals used by people like Richard Fortus, Blake Mills, Lyle Workman, Mike Keneally, John Bohlinger, Adam Levy, Jane Weidlin, Pete Thorn and loads of others… and he’s a prolific writer and the former senior editor at both Guitar Player and Premier Guitar magazines He’s also recorded and/or toured with Tom Waits, PJ Harvey, Tracy Chapman, Marianne Faithfull, the Eels, Courtney Love, John Cale,  DJ Shadow, Aimee Mann, Julieta Venegas, Oranj Symphonette, Jerry Harrison, Action Plus, Meat Beat Manifesto, Carrie Underwood, Tchad Blake, Flood, Tipsy, Kimya Dawson, Jill Sobule, Jane Weidlin and Belinda Carlisle, Flea, Les Claypool, O.A.R., and many other artists… On this call, Joe gets really deep and opens up about growing up in a family of educators and the internal struggles he dealt with as a result… His favorite interviews of the 2,000 interviews he’s done over the last 30 years… he also talks about being a diagnosed depressive… his biggest struggles and the most difficult thing he’s ever had to do.
