This 88FIVE Live comes from our recent trip to Austin for SXSW 2022! We caught up with the Austin-based musician Alex Dupree to find out more about his project. Dupree tells us about what we can expect to hear on his upcoming album 'Thieves,' what producer worked on the album with him, and the difference that had on the outcome. "When I'm thinking about folk music," says Dupree about his current approach to songwriting, "I'm thinking about long ballad forms…but there's also just enough surprises and weirdness to keep things interesting." He also shares the backstory behind his single "Fortunado" and what influenced the track.
