Rachel has been part of the ‘LGBT+ Partnership’ since its creation and facilitates a monthly LGBT reading group, which is almost over 6 years old now. Rachel also writes LGBTQ poetry, which has been published in various anthologies funded by the arts council. Rachel left school without any GCSE’s but went back to university late in life and has a 2.1 from Bristol University...due to Covid she is still waiting to have a graduation ceremony! She is passionate about how literature can bring different communities together. She recently spoke at Pittville School on section 28 and the more recent protests against LGBTQ literature in Birmingham in 2019 in order to spread awareness of our history.
