Thomas Pfanner is the Founder and CEO of Dads Who Lead which aims to help dads dramatically improve connection and leadership within their families. He is a Licensed Health and PE Teacher in Oregon Western University.  In this episode of the Dad Edge podcast, Larry Hagner interviews Thomas Pfanner,  who shares his unique journey into fatherhood. Thomas Pfanner talks about how he unexpectedly became a father at a young age and the challenges he faced. They also discuss the importance of leadership in fatherhood and how becoming a father changed his perspective on life.  One of the key themes that emerges from the podcast is the importance of parental support in navigating the challenges of unexpected fatherhood. Thomas Pfanner lives in Oregon with his three children and wife Megan. He has over 15 years of experience coaching and teaching at the middle, high school, and collegiate levels. His drive to help dads, young men &amp; women succeed is what inspired this project. His experience as an educator gives him a unique perspective on how schools are missing the mark in preparing kids to win in the game of life. He is the Founder and Director of Dads Who Lead and this week's episode is full of wisdom from a dad on a mission to help guide other dads lead their families to greatness. He found a need to help encourage young men by teaching them the skills they aren't being taught in school. He shares how the example we set for our children is everything. It sets the tone in how they listen to us and learn from us.   We dive deep into how ceilings we set for ourselves are limiting to our children and how we set up our beliefs have a huge impact on how well they are able to grow. He shares a story about how this impacted how he learned to swim as a child.  He shares the importance of how taking action as the leader in your marriage allows for adventure within your relationship with your wife.We discuss the expectations of boys and girls to follow rules and how the necessity for kids to show up and do the assignment doesn't allow space for them to check in with themselves as a leader.
