Many of you might know Michel Helou from the fantastic work he's done transforming @lorientlejour_olj and @lorienttoday as its youngest ever executive manager. Freedom of the press and expression is perhaps his strongest guiding force, and in my years of knowing him, I've seen the effects of independent, investigative journalism. Michel is what you could call a third culture kid, having been born and raised in the diaspora, between France, Switzerland, the UAE and the KSA, he decided to move in his adult life to Lebanon and work at OLJ. We discuss Michel's worldview, his district of Baabda and the rocky formation of coalition lists as well as his policy priorities, Hezbollah and much, much more. Michel is running in Baabda (Mount Lebanon 3) on the Baabda El Teghyir list.
