I am delighted to have Lori Neff back on Faith Conversations this week. We are rolling out a book club. Both Lori and I have had numerous people email and ask if we would consider starting the book club up again. Dr. Rosalie de Rosset, our previous book club leader, is too busy currently. So we thought we’d tackle it ourselves.   The first book we are going to read is When Mockingbirds Sing by Billy Coffey. The first person to email me and agree to either be on the podcast discussion of the book OR write out thoughts about the book for us to read will get a copy of the book mailed to them. Email me at producer@anitalustrea.com and make sure to include your mailing address. As I talked with Lori she also mentioned a book she is reading currently, Scenes From a Village Life by Amos Oz. After bookclub talk I went on a little monologue and talked a bit about some of the ways I get fed. Podcasts are one way. Two favorites are The RobCast and The Bible For Normal People. I’ve been looking forward to releasing this podcast. For those of you who don’t know, my guest Lori Neff used to work with me at Moody Radio on the program Midday Connection. We logged a lot of great years together along with our friend and colleague, Melinda Schmidt. Some of you have followed the former Midday Connection team on the Facebook page, Friends of Midday (https://www.facebook.com/friendsofmidday/). If you haven’t, I suggest you “Like” that page to keep up with what’s going on with us. I’ve not mentioned this yet, but Mark Breta, former MC technical producer, is currently editing these podcasts until I learn how to edit them myself. I’m getting there……but not there yet! Thanks, Mark!!! Melinda is finishing her M.A. degree, this month, at Wheaton College Graduate School. I’m very proud of her accomplishment. She has had her hands full with the work, but she is loving the learning! I miss rubbing shoulders daily with her to hear what she learned in class. Mark Breta is doing a variety of freelance projects, not the least of which is helping to edit and produce Lori’s podcast Everyday Prayer that I will be talking about on the podcast.
