Shannon Prouty is currently the Director of Orchestras at Farmington High School in Farmington, Connecticut.  She received her B.M.Ed. at James Madison University in 2017 and is working towards her M.M.Ed. at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School.  During her time at James Madison University, she served as the ASTA chapter president for two years, and as an executive member of the JMU Club Orchestra.  During her childhood, Shannon’s family moved often, and she found a place in music programs of each new school.  The communities she found through music education inspired her to become a music educator.  Outside of music, Shannon enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her fiance, Jonathan.
