The DoGood Radio Hour is excited to welcome Ellee Ven on the show today! As a musician, entrepreneur, artist, and much more, she is a walking example of the power of using your talents and interests for good. Today's show focuses on shedding preconceived notions about how charitable giving should look and points to the concept that giving starts with one person who has a passion. This interview is an inspiration to chase after what you're passionate about wholeheartedly, especially when it comes to giving back!

I sit down with Ellee Ven  Notes: ellee ven, is a singer, songwriter and creator. In the midst of a quarter life crisis she moved into apartment “1111” and her entire life changed. On the tip of a stranger, she took a trip to Minneapolis and returned home with 3 original songs and her own genre of music, Groovetonics, was born. A fusion of rock and electronica influenced by Prince, Bowie and Berlin, ellee ven's groovetonics is music made to lift your mood and make you move. The self proclaimed groovalutionary's single Under My Skin was a DJ favorite and her song You Can Buy Me won Video of the Year at The South Bay Music Awards. Soon after, she took home the award for Electro Pop Artist of the Year at the Los Angeles Music Awards. These events inspired PROJECT 11, an 8 part series of singles remixed by DJs around the world and released on vinyl and on CD. ellee ven has been giving back to her community as a passionate philanthropist. She hosts an annual event called “Give into the Groove” which has benefitted dozens of charities since 2001. All of her philanthropic efforts are driven by her mission to put people in touch with the creativity and kindness that exists within us all. In 2016, LexArts, one of the artistic influencers in Lexington, honored ellee ven with the “Change the World with a Giving Heart” Award on National Philanthropy Day in Lexington, Kentucky. Her super loyal trio is made up of drummer Jody Giachello, guitarist Antony Lee and rapper Prodéje. She says “The thing I’m most proud of is that each of my collaborators are superstars in their own right. We choose to collaborate and it’s been magical.” Bassist Sam Sims and keyboardist Jeff Motley are recent and bombastic additions. At the moment, she’s back at work with two industry veterans to release a series of new singles. Engineer Reggie Dozier and percussion superstar Terry Santiel, whose partial list of credits include Justin Timberlake, Outkast, Kenny Rogers, Rose Royce, Janet Jackson, Joe Cocker, Sheila E and Marvin Gaye.
