The baseball season starts soon and kids and parents have this week to get signed up for several age based classes of baseball or softball. Andrew Dwyer also talked about planting trees in Kewanee Parks, the new play equipment at Chatauqua Park, and the work nearly being complete on repairs and clean-up from the storm that hit late March and closed a portion of the parks.

The pool at Northeast Park is now open. Andrew Dwyer, Kewanee Parks Director joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Tuesday morning and told WKEI about the decision to open the pool one week earlier than usual and just in time for the Memorial Day Weekend. Andrew also discussed the beginning of summer baseball with a large number of new ballplayers, including enough to field two Pony League teams for the first time in a couple seasons. Kewanee Parks Director Andrew Dwyer joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Tuesday to talk about the golf cart sale that is ending this week. If you'd like to bid on a golf cart you need to get in touch with the Parks Department today or Wednesday to place a bid. The 19th Hole Restaurant closed for the season as of this Friday, and sadly, it's official, Bakersville will not take place this year. Organizers informed the Parks Department that they would not be going ahead with Bakersville 2021. Mr Dwyer says the Parks Department will be ready if Bakersville makes a comeback in 2022.
