The Lord of Liberty - Kay Hodge

In this weeks Sunday message,  Kay Hodge who has worked as a missionary with her husband in Nigeria shares God’s call into mission work and the difficulties that Nigeria has faced with the violent, fundamentalist, Muslim terrorist group Boko Haram active in committing shocking atrocities- especially against Christians. In this setting the Hodge family have brought the gospel message- sharing thelove of God and the forgiveness found in Jesus, which can set even the hardest and most burdened of hearts free. She tells stories of first hand experiences of violence and vitriolic behaviour into which God intervened and brought a peace which shows he is the King of Creation and the Lord of Liberty.

In 2016 God will Kay and her husband John to northern Nigeria to join John's parents in mission there. After outlining the physical and social geography of this violent pat of Nigeria, Kay shares how the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram created chaos all around their region and how people in their Bible College ministry had died at the hands of these Muslim fundamentalists.God has shown the local Christians how to bring peace, how to love and cooperate with their Muslim neighbours, and how to plant churches in this volatile society. Don't build taller walls but build longer tables
