This week, we have the creator of Fabulous Fur, Donna Salyers. She is truly self-motivated and a passionate woman that turned her hobby of fashion and sewing into her business. What started it all for her was working in New York City and seeing everyone but her wearing a Mink coat, this made her save to purchase her very own. Little did she know that when she finally was able to save up the money for her own, that Paul Harvey would come into her car and tell her about a toy company that skinned kittens alive to be sold as "mink teddy bears"  would change that trip.It was this, that sparked her faux fur sewing business, she quickly forgot about purchasing the mink coat and her she began selling faux fur coat kits out of her home. As the demand for coats made by Donna increased, Fabulous-Furs evolved into a ready-to-wear business, which meant Donna taking the order and sewing it in her kitchen that night.You will learn in this episode of a woman who came from humbling beginnings turning her hobby and love for fashion into what is now known today as Fabulous Furs. Never giving up and making sacrifices and overcoming struggles of the economy never stopped her and that is why she just celebrating her businesses 30 year anniversary.
