Jason Ewing is back for part two and has plenty of stories left to share.  He starts with a boat build he did at an LA convention that landed him his first gig on a show.  With mics hidden in the boat, a production team found Jason and his partner to be hilarious.  They asked them to come out for 6 months to work on this show, and Jason agreed.  They ended up doing 4 episodes and Jason says things they said were flipped, and they were turned into the bad guys.  Jason says the whole thing turned into a nightmare, and he was ready to go back home.  That’s when Jason was told that MTV was looking for installers to work on Pimp My Ride. Jason moved from San Diego to LA over the weekend and started filming on Pimp My Ride the following Monday.  Over two and a half years, Jason worked on two seasons.  He says the first car that they worked on included a lot of fiberglass work, and it got them pigeonholed into continuing that trend.  Jason shares a lot of behind the scenes looks at the show.  There were a lot of ups and downs, but Jason says given the opportunity, he would do it all again. Through it all, Jason has learned that there’s always someone who knows more than you, you can always be learning, and you should always help others as much as you can. Working on the Pimp My Ride TV Show with Jason Ewing - PART 2

Car audio has changed so much since the 90s.  Jason Ewing got in on the ground floor, doing car audio, security systems, and remote start since 1990.  Working in a small shop while he was still in high school, Jason didn’t get paid, instead he worked for product.  Sweeping floors and putting tools away, Jason earned his first audio system piece by piece, and fell in love with the craft. Moving to Pittsburgh later down the road, Jason found a place at a shop called Audio Communications.  The owner there took Jason under his wing and wowed him with the things he was able to build.  From there, Jason would go on to work for another auto center that worked closely with dealerships. He found himself installing audio systems in Cavaliers before they hit the lot. In addition to that, Jason rented out a funeral home garage to work on his friends cars at night. Now, Jason’s main gig is working as a tech support rep.  He’s always happy to help other installers with any issues that may arise. Hoping to expand his reach in the industry, Jason has been working on creating training videos for fellow car audio enthusiasts. What You’ll Learn:  How car audio has changed since the 90’s.
