I interview these two as a team, because they work together really well as a team. They are truly role models that I look up to in many ways.I asked them to give introductions of themselves on the show for anyone outside of Edmonton who may not know who they are. For anyone who knows ME really well, I consider them family - just like my blood family who I am extremely close with. So if you like me, you'll love them.We talk about this past year, how dogs can change your life, and the importance of understanding the world and everyone who shares it on a deeper more meaningful level.When you learn how to support those around you who've lived different experiences than you, it changes your life forever. You learn that every decision you make matters. Every pivot of a person with privilege of any description, will impact someone else's life. Finding ways to be conscious of this reality enables us to find greater strength together.Regardless of business or professional goals, it is deeply impactful to understand where you direct your energy and how you can move forward in times of uncertainty. It is important to reflect, and plan, and sometimes find places of catharsis. Most often these times of clarity come from times of discomfort or pain.It's important to be able to see that you are not defined by being in fitness or being a business owner. You are defined by what it is in your life that inspires you to do what you do.Why are you on this planet and what kind of legacy do you want to have?For the Shariffs, it is the ability to lead by example in daily decisions and raise their family to have an immense amount of self belief in whatever direction their heart takes them.If you are able to believe in your 10 year plan, or your 5 year plan, that is what will get you there. That level of self belief requires support, and a sustainable two-way energy exchange which comes with the endless experiences that make us who we are.Thanks for listening to The Lifestyle Chase. Episode 150 - The Return of Dr. Farha and Naheed Shariff

UrbanYEG Podcast Episode 5 Naheed Shariff: The Shariff Group As Naheed says, he was born into business. His parents opened an East African restaurant after coming to Canada from Nairobi Kenya, and his mothers first job was at Boston Pizza. In 1983, his parents purchased their first Boston Pizza franchise. Naheed himself started at Boston  at the age of 12, and by his 15th birthday, his goal was to become a franchisee by 23, which he achieved.  By 2014 The Shariff Group owned and operated 4 Boston Pizza locations in Edmonton. As Naheed speaks about in the podcast, He positioned to exit the Boston Pizza brand and in 2014 they had sold all four of their restaurants. They now own all six Brown Social House locations in Edmonton. His focus on family, his employees, and his customers has allowed him to create a brand within a brand and a larger family within the corporate structure. In memory of Faisel and Loma and the many others we lose to cancer, please reflect on how you will carry on the legacy of your loved one. https://www.albertacancer.ca/donatehttp://www.kidswithcancer.ca/how-can-you-help/donate/Farha and Naheed have seen me completely reinvent myself over the years and chase my goals relentlessly. They are huge supporters in my life and so it was really fun to spend some time with them and the kids (AND FUSCHIA!!) for this podcast. Farha is a high performing individual with her Doctorate in Education. When she isn't educating at the University of Alberta, she unwinds and gains clarity through instructing and coaching spin and boxing at Cyclebar and Champs boxing studio. Naheed has done very well for himself as a businessman and accountant. With a balanced approach geared towards making the people around him perform at their best, he has found a lot of success in creating strong teams and being innovative as often as possible.We talk about everything from fitness to family to the tough things that life throws at us, the tough decisions and the fact that Naheed has more shoes than Farha. Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy this one!Original Picture Credit: Hannah Hamilton This is a public episode.
