Lynette asks Dr. Boynton-Jarrett about experiences that shaped Dr. Boynton-Jarrett's understanding of community, and her own development as a leader. Together they reflect on their experiences as women of color in positions of leadership, and what leadership looks like amid a pandemic and renewed calls for racial justice. Dr. Boynton-Jarrett shares what she believes is needed to ensure the child care sector is more equitable, inclusive and just. About Dr. Renee Boynton-Jarrett: As a pediatrician and social epidemiologist, Dr. Boynton-Jarrett founded the Vital Village Community Engagement Network. Her work focuses on the role of early-life adversities as life course social determinants of health. Specifically, she has studied the intersection of community violence, intimate partner violence, and child abuse and neglect and neighborhood characteristics that influence these patterns.
