Während Kultur vielerorts unter Corona nur beschränkt weiterblühen kann oder sogar zum Erliegen kommt, entsteht am Ehrenhof ein Ort, mit dem Düsseldorf die Kultur der Zukunft maßgeblich mitprägen wird. Unter der Leitung von Joanna Phillips wird dort das neue Restaurierungszentrum aufgebaut, das neue Maßstäbe setzen will. Joanna Phillips hat die Leitung im vergangenen Jahr übernommen und viel Erfahrung mitgebracht. In Dresden, Berlin und Zürich war die gebürtige Berlinerin schon tätig, für ihre neue Aufgabe kam sie aus New York, wo sie im renommierten Museum „Guggenheim“ die Abteilung für Medienkunstrestaurierung aufgebaut hatte. In dieser Folge von „Alle Rhein!“ erzählt Joanna Phillips von ihren Visionen, welche Vorzüge Düsseldorf im Vergleich mit dem „Big Apple“ New York hat und warum die Arbeit eines Restaurators manchmal was vom Job eines Profilers hat.
