At a time when public libraries and bookstores are struggling, the Bluebird Books Bus is taking words to the street. Talkupy with Annie Lindstrom welcomes Mitzi Gordon, owner and mobile librarian, to the show on Thursday, August 16 at 11 am Eastern Time. Have books will travel, the Bluebird Books Bus promotes literacy and craft while serving as a mobile station of inspiration. Housed in a converted short bus, the literary themed project space is part bookshop, part art house. Patrons can purchase gently-used books, locally-designed artist books, handmade notebooks and related ephemera to support the project. The bus also  supports cultural events such as play readings, poetry readings, literary-themed art exhibits and bookmaking workshops.
