Episode 2: Single in Sobriety with Leah Royster In this episode, Courtney chats with her pal Leah Royster. We discuss the empowerment of being single in Sobriety.  Leah shares how she puts herself out there with being single and sober.  How she sets boundaries right away with dating and being upfront with men that she is alcohol-free.  She shares with you some tips she uses in her dating life.  She also discusses the fun she has traveling solo!  Yes, the world doesn't stop when you get sober; it just begins.  "I feel recovery is a choice that must sometimes be made every second, but no matter it is a choice we make. I have struggled with addiction my whole adult life. I started using hard drugs at a young age out of boredom and curiosity, the pain that I caused myself and others by using is what lead me to drink for the greater part of my twenties. May 7th, 2017, after coming out of a blackout I saw even through the haze of my immense hangover I could no longer do this to my body and mind, I made a choice that day, and I have never looked back." Leah is a funeral director, is a lover of the outdoors, hiking and kayaking. She is also a huge book nerd and amateur tarot card reader. Leah continues to bartend while she finishes school in the mortuary program at Wayne State University. “I really feel recovery is a choice that must be made sometimes every second but no matter it is a choice we make. I have struggled with addiction my whole adult life. I started using hard drugs at a young age out of boredom and curiosity, the pain that I caused myself and others by using is what lead me to drink for the greater part of my twenties.
