This week we kick off the decade with artist Nick Wroblewski. Nick is a woodcarver based in Minnesota who we came to learn from his work with Earth Rider Brewery. This is another first for us and we are very excited to share this one with you as we discuss the art of woodcutting and the utilization of techniques and philosophies from East &amp; West. We use the opportunity to ask a lot of introduction to woodcutting questions and Nick does an amazing job humoring me and explaining things in a way that makes you appreciate the beauty of his work and the art.Stories of how he came to love and hone his craft, how he shares his studio with his children on Friday (one of the most beautiful pictures on his feed that you need to see), love of nature and so much more. A great way to start off the year by learning about something new, sharing a love and passion and feeling the joy in something I knew very little about before speaking with Nick. The beauty of such a delicate and intimate art form that can’t be digitally altered and is not forgiving, we even talk about what he does if he ‘makes a mistake’ - no white out, no control Z.
