In this episode, we have a wide-ranging and inspiring conversation with networker extraordinaire Cindy Evans, the director of K-State Research and Extension in Shawnee County. We hear how her office works to build community vitality in urban Topeka and several more rural towns in the county, and how opportunities can be built in any of those settings. Cindy also tells us about how she helped pull together multiple organizations and groups to provided dental care for financially challenged people in Kansas. Since that program began in 2002, $18 million worth of dental care has been provided for free to people who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Later, Cindy tells us one of the funniest stories we’ve heard from an extension professional so far in this podcast series – and she proves to be an ace at our trivia challenge!
