Meet Kirk and learn more about PSIA-AASI’s involvement to train volunteer adaptive ski and snowboard instructors during the Hartford Ski Spectacular that takes place at Breckenridge, Colo. The event is the largest a winter sports event of its kind for people with disabilities and hosts people from across the country.

First Chair: Meet Kirk Bauer, CEO of Disabled Sports USA

Executive Director of Disabled Sports USA for the past 30 years, Kirk Bauer joins me Monday!

Kirk Bauer has devoted 41 years of service to Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA). The first 12 years as a volunteer and the last 29 as its executive director.Bauer knows firsthand what it is like to face the challenges of disability. As a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, Bauer lost a leg from a hand grenade during an ambush while serving in the Ninth Combat Infantry Division in Vietnam in 1969.
