It might be time to check out the mid-west again. Hanging with @ryan_akerberg this evening was a lot of fun. We talked about what got him started, turned out we have a common thread in our photographic inspirations. We got into some pretty deep stuff, it was nice getting to know Ryan more and hear about how he see’s the world. Hopefully this fall we will be able to catch up at PolaCon in Denton. Even though the places in my life have changed over time, the way I see these places remain constant. Ryan Akerberg had been in San Francisco for only a couple of weeks when his friend from Boulder, Colorado, tapped him on the shoulder in a cafe. That random meeting eventually resulted in Ryan's owning a company. He has now been washing windows with Intelligent Window Cleaning for nearly 11 years. In this episode of Storied: San Francisco, Ryan talks about what it's like to be a small-business owner, specifically what it means to wash residential windows in houses all over the city. Ryan Akerberg moved to San Francisco 12 years ago from Colorado, and Iowa before that. Like many of us, he arrived without a job or a plan to make the gobs of money that are required for city living.
