Hey ACG, it is Ruth Backland. I am the owner and founder of Energy Myofascial Release in Duluth; I am one of your moderators; I am a coach; I am a practice owner and an RN; and a myofascial release therapist. My question to you is, “Are you on this facebook group to find a new job?” or “Are you in this group to find something that you love to do?” And the big question is, “Would you be willing to do what you think you love to do for free?” The reason why I asked that is, a lot of times when  we are dissatisfied with our current  situation whether it be in a middle of job. We just feel that we need to crank it out for the insurance company, for the big industry, for healthcare, maybe it is just something that we fell into and we just feel kind of stuck because we need that paycheck. Somebody’s got to pay the bills and it takes a job. But what if that job could be absolutely what you love to do? I had an experience this weekend. I have been doing myofascial release in Duluth for about 10 years. I have been doing it full time for one and part time for a few years and I have been doing it casual when I first started. It was really kind of a side hustle. I was in stressful job for a long time and hated it. Loved the people that I have worked with but hated the whole pace of the business I was in and really did not have the passion that followed the mission of the company – let’s just put it that way.  There was some disconnect for me and I know a lot of you feel that way in your roles and that’s why you are looking at this group. What are some other options out there? Maybe some of you lost their jobs with some of the cutbacks and things like that.  But what do you love to do?  The reason why that is important is, sometimes having a job is just there because you want to have that steady paycheck. Sometimes you are looking for a status. You need to find why you want the job that you want.  This past weekend, I went on a retreat.  And it was a retreat that basically required me to work the whole time for free. I worked all week long, treated patients in my office and I did my admin stuff, did my staff meetings and all that kind of stuff.
