On this week’s edition of Sustainability Now!, your host, Justin Mog, gets deep in the grease traps with Todd Bluechel, President of Sales, Marketing &amp; Business Development at Oil Tech, a local, family-owned company that collects waste cooking oil from restaurants and institutions so that it can be turned into a renewable fuel known as biodiesel. Thanks to Todd’s efforts with the city, residents can now recycle their waste cooking oil, too. First let the oil cool, then strain out food particles and pour the oil into a container that has a lid. Take it to the nearest full-service recycling location and hand it to a staff member. Oil Tech collects the used cooking oil and recycles it into biodiesel fuel. Full-service recycle centers are open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and located at:1. Southwest Government Center (7219 Dixie Highway in Pleasure Ridge Park);2. Central Government Center (7201 Outer Loop in Highview); or3. East District Public Works (595 N.
