She earned her doctoral degree from The Catholic University of America. Currently, she works at the VA San Diego Healthcare System as a staff psychologist, assistant program manager, and clinical supervisor. She serves on the Board of Directors of Survivors of Suicide Loss, San Diego and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego.
