Faye Donaya Haymond Part 2 

This week I"m joined by Faye Haymond who writes under the name of Donaya Haymond. She is a talented writer who at the age of 23 has already published 5 novels.  In part 1 of our conversation Faye tells us how she came up with the ideas for her books and how her characters are very different than those in other series. She also discusses what it was like being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and how her parents dealt with it.  She opens up about what it was like realizing she was gay and how she dealt with coming out to her parents. Here is the much anticipated second part with Faye Donaya Haymond. In this part, Faye and I discuss her extremely vivid dreams, self harm, people who have inspired Faye in her life, including the band "Steam Powered Giraffe" who is featured in the intro music in this episode and part 1. Faye also has a TV Tropes page and volunteers for "7 Cups of Tea". I always love where the conversation goes in the second half. You really start to get a feel for who the person is, and Faye does not disappoint. I love the metaphors she uses for every day life. If you're looking for an inspiring conversation, this is it. Faye Donaya Haymond (Part II)

Faye contacted me through an ad I posted on Craigslist for new guests for the show. We met up last weekend by "Dippy" the Dinosaur in Oakland and discussed the novels she has written along with her bipolar disorder. Faye's pen name is her middle name, "Donaya". This was one of my favorite interviews because she was so open and interesting to talk to. You can tell she has experienced some great things already, at the young age of 23, and speaking with her felt like I was gaining insight and wisdom to some of my own relate able tendencies. In part 1 we uncover some of her first experiences in realizing her bipolar disorder, trying to explain it to her parents, and quickly being treated and put on medication. Faye also goes into some of her manic episodes and how all of this has affected her personal relationships through life. We also get into her "heterosexual phase", as she calls it, and she shares the inspiring story of coming out to her parents. I gained a whole new perspective on people with mental health issues when she spoke about her 3 week stay in a psychiatric ward and having to be on a precise amount of lithium to be stable.
