Gwen was selected for a songwriting retreat in 2017 with the veteran executive music publisher Judy Stakee, who also developed artists, such as Sheryl Crow and Katy Perry. Stakee told Gwen that she is "an excellent Nashville songwriter" after hearing her song Final Vow. At 22, Gwen took Stakee's teachings back with her to Nashville, where she continues to grow and develop as a songwriter and artist.   She released her first EP, Outskirts, in May 2017 with SongBuilder Studios in Catonsville, MD. With musical heroes ranging from Stevie Nicks to Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves, Sheryl Crow, Tom Petty, and Norah Jones, the EP shows off Gwen's Americana roots and gorgeous, layered sound. Originally from Washington D.C., Gwen is bringing her own fresh take on the Americana sound to Nashville. She considers herself a vagabond and wanderer with a gypsy soul on a path that is anything but conventional. Her music is no exception to her approach towards life. Gwen originally came to Nashville to be a songwriter, but soon found that she had so much to offer as an artist as well. With a rich, distinct, and powerful voice, she signed a development deal a little over a year ago and has been constantly evolving ever since . Over the last 6 months alone, she has played countless shows as a solo artist, created the band Gwen Levey &amp; The Breakdown, and started working on her new EP. This is a conversation about her journey.
