We caught up for a chat with the savvy founder of a hugely successful business in Torquay called Retreat Yourself Box for this episode of the Surf Coast Creatives podcast. Her name is Kate Buchan (nee Williams) who got married at the beginning of 2020 to her loving partner Andrew. Kate had a little bubba too at the end of 2020 so she now juggles life as a busy entrepreneur, Mum to Charlie, loving wife, friend, and the rest! Today on the podcast I have Kate Williams/Buchan who is the Founder of Retreat Yourself Box, a  seasonal health retreat in a box inspiring you to prioritise self-care and become the best version of you.   After struggling with school, Kate left to travel overseas as she explored the world and herself.  Through her travels, she saw an appreciation for life and the need to slow down and take care of herself.  Combining her love for travel, health and self care, she combined all 3 and started Retreat Yourself Box, from the ground up with no experience in business.   For Kate, so much of her journey and success comes down to mindset.  So much of us think that we need to ‘know’ everything before starting a business, but a lot comes down to the right attitude and thinking.  Kate has some amazing tips on how to shift your mindset so you can make the most out of starting a business and learning along the way.   To add to that, Kate shares some key skills you will need to understand when starting a business.  It isn’t always the fun things, but getting a clear understanding on money, cashflow and growth of the business will help you steer the ship in the right direction.  It can sometimes feel easy to get distracted by what others are doing, but having that structure will help you focus on the things that matter for the business.
