http://www.byroningraham.com/podcast/137-creating-your-own-future-with-julie-hoang   Julie Hoang is a fitness entrepreneur owning 4 gyms in the Dallas-Fort Worth area revolutionizing the way people approach exercise in their day to day lives.  She has overcome obstacles that would have stopped most people in their tracks.    Overcoming obstacles was simply part of the journey Julie was on in life.  The life she lives now is a far cry from where she began growing up in Section 8 housing.  In that environment, it was hard to believe in yourself simply because of not having positive role models to look up to.  The turning point in her life was when she began participating in sports.  It was the first time someone expected more out of her than she did and didn't put up with any crap.  It was having someone believe in her that made all the difference in the world.  For most people who struggle as adults finding success, it can many times be attributed to not having the right role models at an earlier age. One of the lessons learned while playing volleyball as a setter was not dwelling on mistakes.  Often individuals will dwell over mistakes they make and it holds them back.  However, in the position she was in, she had to quickly move on past the mistake.  It's a lesson that has served her well in life.  If you make a mistake acknowledge it, quickly figure out what happened, and quickly make a correction to move on. A key to the success in Julie's life is failing often.  Failing often means you are stepping outside of your comfort zone trying new things.  If you are unwilling to take risks, everything in life will remain the same.   If there is something you want in life, you must learn how to be resourceful, as it's never about a lack of resources. One of the main reasons Julie launched 3 gyms within the DFW area is about living life.  When you own your own business you can decide how and where you want to work from.  Dallas was an ideal location to launch a fitness business as it is only 2nd to NYC to the number of gyms per capita. Regardless of where someone is in business, one of the most important things anyone can do is to continually learn.  YouTube is a resource that everyone has access to.  On it, anyone can find the answer to just about anything they are looking for.  It is imperative to consistently learn in life because the world is changing rapidly.   The One Thing Julie Recommends is upgrade your peer group.  Jim Rohn said it best as we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time around.  You want to surround yourself with individuals who push you to be the best version of yourself on a daily basis.
