Kimi Walker's Early Accountability Intreview  Justice Wali

Kimi Walker is a School Psychologist who teaches how we can use tools of behavior change to make our goals stick. She is the host of the Early Accountability Podcast, and a 2017 graduate of Package Your Genius Academy. An expert on early accountability, an educator, and a psychologist who personally changed her life by losing over 100 pounds, Kimi has learned what it takes to take new, scary actions and create an environment that encourages our new habits to stick. With a background in school psychology Kimi regularly conducts psychological evaluations, and is the go-to person when dealing with cases that require behavior change. The parallels between working in schools and working with adults who are trying to spark a new behavior are many. As Kimi shares during our interview, everyone responds differently to stimuli, so she works hard to assess each client and figure out what each person needs to succeed. She customizes solutions for students and coaching clients alike using her philosophy of "Results, Not Resolutions."   Kimi’s Steps for Sticking to New Goals 1. Know what you're working toward. Set a big goal. Remind yourself of your goal often. 2. Know your achievement style and what works best for you to achieve. What do you need in order to be able to execute? 3. Find something fun you like to do, or a milestone you can work towards that supports that new goal (i.e. Goal - weight loss, Milestone - train for a marathon). 4. Be intentional about getting support and accountability. Find a coach or other expert who can cut your learning curve. PYG 66: How to Make New Goals Stick with Psychologist and Early Accountability Coach Kimi Walker

In this episode of our Six Weeks to Fitness podcast, I am joined by Kimi Walker, a school psychologist, philanthropist, coach, and wellness enthusiast from Indianapolis, Indiana.  During the interview, Kimi will share her personal journey into health and wellness.  As a teenager, Kimi was obese, suffered from asthma and had to deal with various social and emotional challenges associated with obesity.  At one point, Kimi’s weight was close to 300 pounds.  While attending Florida A&amp;M University, Kimi decided to undergo a lifestyle change and took certain action steps to lose the weight, all of which she will share during the interview.  Kimi believes that you must take a holistic approach to weight loss.  It’s not just about the body, but the mind and spirit as well. In addition to running her private practice as a school psychologist, working with children age 2 to 20 and their families, Kimi also has an accountability coaching business where she holds clients accountable in achieving their goals, whether it’s weight loss or business.  Kimi’s personal experience in wellness more than qualifies her to understand what so many people are going through when it comes to health challenges, whether they are mental or physical.  Kimi will share how she holds her clients accountable and what we can do to hold ourselves accountable when it comes to achieving our goals.
