Amy Heydenrych has been brooding on the idea for her latest novel, 'The Pact', for some time now. After experiencing office bullying in an old job, she thought about how the feelings it caused, and how they could lead to the plot of a crime novel. The story is all about Freya, Nicole and Jay, and the harmless prank that leads to murder.It's her second novel, after her debut 'Shame on You' achieved critical and commercial success in 2017. We talk about what she learned from writing that that affected how she told her new story, and why it took a bit longer to write than originally planned. Hi everyone and welcome to another episode of Walking with Wildflowers - probably the last one for 2018 and this first season! I just wanted to thank each and everyone of of you for every download and share this year! It’s been such fun doing this podcast and I’m so looking forward to creating the next season. I’m going to be taking a break now to set up next season properly, so you can look forward to more regular episodes with more amazing people!   In today’s episode I chat to Amy Heydenrych, a South Africa writer and editor based in Johannesburg. I’ve followed Amy for a long time now, as we both went to Rhodes University and are both bloggers and vegans and we both had our babies last year! It’s been so inspiring watching Amy’s journey over the past few years as she has been so open about her experience as a writer looking to get published! Yup, that’s right, she is a published author, both here in SA and internationally, and her first book, SHAME ON YOU, has now also been picked up by Audible too! I just love how happy Amy is to help other authors and writers get themselves out there. In this episode we chat about the long road to becoming a published author, the danger of social media and wellness industry influencers, being vegan mamas, and how to manifest your dreams into being!
