She might only be sixteen, but Madison Cain is no rookieat the music game. As the oldest daughter of Journeykeyboard player &amp; famed songwriter, Jonathan Cain, shegrew up backstage listening to some of the mostinfluential musicians of our time as well as any artistthat played on either of the two country stations shecould pick up in scenic Northern California.Originally from Novato, California, Madison grew up withwhat she thought was a normal lifestyle: summers livingthe gypsy life on the road with her Dadâ??s band, havingkids come up to her at her brotherâ??s baseball gamesasking what it was like to live with a rock star and seeingher Dadâ??s songs memorialized on one of her favorite TVshows, Glee. She thought everyone's bedrooms used tobe studios with people like Huey Lewis, Michael Bolton,John Waite and Steve Perry recording songs there.By the time she was 13, she started to realize that themusical magic that had taken place in her father'srecording studio (now her bedroom) must have seepedthrough the sheetrock and into her veins. Madison hadbeen bitten by the music bug and knew she was ready toembark on something bigger than her self. She soonwent into the studio and tracked five songs, quicklyfeeling a connection to the soothing melodies and lyricsof classic country music. After sheâ??d proven to her fatherthat this was more than a fleeting hobby, he called KimTribble, a heavy hitting songwriter who invited them toNashville and agreed to sit down with Madison andbegan showing her the musical process.Madison spent a week in the Country music capitolwatching and learning as Kim and her father workedwith her and taught her how to write music andbiographyexplained the technical aspects of putting a life storyinto a three-minute song. By this point, she had fallenin love with the way a musicianâ??s mind worked and feltconfident that Nashville was where she wanted to callhome.The Cains moved to Nashville in 2009 to embark on anew life immersed in an efficacious music scene and toallow Madison to continue chasing her dream as athick-skinned teen ready to leave a mark on Countrymusic. With influences like Carrie Underwood, KellyClarkson and Dolly Partonâ??s â??Joleneâ?? as her favoritetune, Madison has found her place in the music world,writing her own songs filled with heart and soul.Since returning to Music City, Madison has dedicatedherself 100% to her craft. From graduating high schoolearly to working with a vocal teacher via Skype betweendoing chores, Madison feels that everything is fallingperfectly into place.She is a free spirit and a traditional teen who likesjamming out to the radio with her sister and brother butshe also has an old soul and a love for all things vintage.She enjoys collecting vintage clothes, riding horses,scouring flea markets, antiques and the original JanisJoplin show invites in her room are pretty cool, too.
