Our guest today is Jason Snook, MSW, LICSW. He shares his very personal story of recovery and relapse as a professional in the field.  Jersey Ed’s Podcast Pick of the Week:SoberPod hosted by Carl, Ellen, and Steve. A weekly podcast on recovery from three different perspectives. Carl is an agnostic, Ellen is a believer, and Steve is an atheist. Jason Snook is our guest, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker from New Hampshire and Clinical Outreach Manager for Aware Recovery Care. They deliver year-long in-home addiction treatment services. Aware Recovery Care works with people referred through probation, parole, diversion programs, or with physical limitations, mental health concerns, etc. The longer someone is in treatment, the better their chances for success in recovery.  Jason says his group will collaborate with anyone in the field, including interventionists, detox and inpatient level of care. They provide the full continuum of care, AND an individual can be simultaneously enrolled in their care program as well as PHP, IOP, outpatient therapy, etc. His advice? We aren’t all sick on the same day. We aren’t expecting the twists that are presented in our lives. Stick with it, learn your triggers. The slip can be a setback, but it made me stronger in my recovery. It brought me closer to my community, my higher power, the purpose and the value of my life.
