Marnie has worked and volunteered in a variety of settings in the Decatur and Atlanta area. After witnessing limited resources, as well as limited flexibility of days/times services and activities are made available to youth, she decided a place needed to exist dedicated to youth. She is the teen queen, Gathered &amp; Grounded is like a community center for kids and teens - except a community center they actually want to go to. As she perfectly puts it, if it's legal, it's allowed. In this episode I tried to get an understanding of what we should and shouldn’t worry about, and what it’s like to be a teen in today’s world.

Marnie Grodzin is a social worker that opened a social, emotional, physical, and mental support space for teenagers and the people who care for them called Gathered and Grounded. Raising kids is really tough! My real ask is to get guidance on how to screw up our kids the least! We talked about social pressures, vaping, anxiety, depression, teen suicide, bullying, gender socialization, and some impactful ways to raise a much more mentally fit generation! I’m always so inspired by people who think of different ways to truly support our future generation. Hearing Marnie’s mission of compassion for youth and willing to hold space for the tough stuff and also facilitate the fun stuff is truly a gift.
