The topic of mental health on college campuses nationwide is one that continues to gain traction. There is a crisis surrounding our young people. In this episode, we speak with two CU seniors, Allie Reuter &amp; Nick Kohler, who are actively working towards helping other students on campus who are going through really tough times. They share their insights about what it is like to be a campus leader and also navigate the issues of mental health that are prevalent in all aspects of higher education.

We'll talk about what challenges they face as they navigate isolation, social media, dating, life after graduation, political unrest and mental health. Allie Reuter joins the podcast and shares how a close friend’s suicide affected her mentally and physically during her sophomore year at CU, and how this motivated her to try and create more conversation surrounding Mental Health (1:43). Then Adam and Allie discuss vulnerability, therapy, and the counseling services CU provides for its students (16:06). Next, Allie talks about Active Minds, and her role as president before her and Adam touch on the extreme health hazards that Social Media has on Mental health. (24:57) Finally, they discuss how Covid is impacting mental health for CU students and give advice to freshman about navigating a rough first semester. (35:57)
