Frank Woeste (Hanover, Germany, 1976), pianista, compositor, arreglista y productor, actualmente vive en París, ha desarrado un sonido único en el Fender Rhodes combinando el sonido natural del piano Rhodes con diferentes efectos.  Ha grabado 5 discos como líder y aparece en un gran número de discos como acompañante y arreglista. Ha ganado varios premios en concursos internacionales de jazz, como el Steinway en el Concurso Internacional de Piano de Montreux, entre otros y ha trabajado con Ibrahim Maalouf, Dave Douglas, Michel Portal, Youn Sun Nah, Mark Turner, Larry Grenadier, Clarence Penn, Gretchen Parlato, Jeff Ballard entre otros hoy lo escuchamos en “Zone Amazone” [Double You – 2011], “Mirage” [Pocket Rhapsody – 2016] y “Blue Feather”  [Reverso The Melodic Line – 2020].     La segunda parte la comienza con el vibrafonista italiano Marco Pacassoni  con John Patitucci y Antonio Sanchez “Train Trip” [Life – 2022], seguimos con el contrabajista  recientemente fallecido Charnett Moffett “Kings and Queens” [Internet – 2006] y terminamos con la obra que dedica a su hijo el pianista menorquin Marco Mezquida con Aleix Tobias y Martin Melendez “Nacimiento” y “Milos Smiles” [Letter to Milos – 2022].

We talked to him about his momentus 17th CD of his career called New Love .. His career began as a prodigy, appearing in his father Charles Moffett’s band at age 8. Over the years, he has collaborated as a “bassist to the stars” with starts like Wynton Marsalis, Art Blakey, Ornette Coleman, McCoy Tyner, Tony Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, Arturo Sandoval, Harry Connick, Jr., David Sanborn, Bette Midler. Bassist Charnett Moffett grew up in a musical family. Which is to say, his dad played with Ornette Coleman and the whole Moffett family band was touring the world when Charnett was a kid. More than two decades later, Charnett is bringing that family history and his own impressive musical resume to bear on his new album, Treasure (Motema, 2010). In this interview, Charnett talks about the thinking behind this album; his childhood experiences and how they shaped the musician he is today; and his work with guitarist Stanley Jordan, who appears on Treasure.
