Description: Born in Victorville, California, but grew up in Highland, California on a reservation with his family and their tribe, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. At just 13, Runningbear became active within the tribe, and by 18 he had launched a successful campaign to secure a youth councilmen position. When Runningbear was 21, he ran and won a position as a member of the Riverside San Bernardino County Indian Health Board, and from there, he branched out to joining the operating board for First Nations Experience (FNX), a television station specializing in content entirely produced by Native Americans. Runningbear Ramirez is a well-respected and renowned activist, philanthropist, fashion advisor. Fueled by a passion for humanitarianism, Runningbear divides his days between his philanthropic work and business endeavors. For starters, he sits on the board project Angel Food, where he recently launched his Native American Diabetes Pilot Program. This program supplies medically tailored meals and nutrition counseling to Native Americans living with diabetes in Los Angeles County. Runningbear is also involved with a myriad of other foundations like the American Red Cross and UCLA’s Taste for a Cure, to name two.
