Denise Brady is a Licensed Marriage &amp; Family Therapist. She has been practicing therapy since 2009 and her passion is working with marginalized communities. She started her career in South Los Angeles working with chronically mentally ill populations. Currently, Denise uses EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to assist her clients in reprocessing traumatic experiences and memories. With EMDR therapy, she can provide her clients with long term healing not always offered with traditional talk therapy. She currently runs a thriving private practice in Long Beach, CA where she helps people overcome generational trauma. Her work drives her to instill in people they can heal and live a life outside of the things they've been through.In this episode, Denise  talks about her experience in the mental health field. 207: Healing Mother & Father Wounds - with Denise Brady, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Today’s guest on The Grounded and Growing Podcast is Denise Brady, who has been a therapist for 11 years and has served the Los Angeles area, specifically advocating and providing care for the chronically mentally ill and individuals working through childhood trauma; emotional, verbal, physical, and sexual trauma. As an ally and Queer Affirming therapist, Denise also works with the LGBTQIA-2 community, providing all of her clients with a safe space to be their authentic selves.    In this episode, Denise shares some of the positive benefits of therapy, and how it can help both parties (the practitioner and the client) learn more about themselves and understand their ways of being. Through being a therapist, Denise has been able to change the lives of many and impact her community in such a positive way that is truly inspirational and eye opening. Although it may seem like there are certain stigmas around mental health and therapy, this conversation really brings to light that we are all going through adversity and challenges in our lives that we don’t talk about, however, talking about it in a safe space can allow you to be able to heal and grow into who you are truly meant to be.   This interview inspired me to be courageous in showing up as my authentic self and to spread kindness to the world and especially to myself, and I hope it does the same for you! 7. Walk in Your Purpose with Denise Brady

Denise Brady is a 36 year old mama of 2 young boys. She's a Registered Respiratory Therapist and an AVID runner both trail and road.  This inspirational woman ran her first half marathon when her oldest was only 6 months old. Since then, Denise has ran 5 road marathons including 2 Boston Marathons (2018 and 2019) plus 2 x 50k trail Ultramarathons and many more shorter distance races.  Denise is part of an all women's trail relay team called the Wild Bruce Chase that holds the fastest known time for an all women team completing the Bruce Trail (2016), the Rideau Trail (2017), The Ganaraska Trail (2018) and the Grand Valley Trail. All were completed non-stop end to end, relay style.  She is a huge supporter of women leading active lifestyles &amp; lives by the personal motto: You can have results or you can have excuses, but you can't have both. Her goal is to be an example to her children and other moms that you can have your cake and eat it too.
