Lucca Wang is biracial, being of Chinese and European descent, and grew up in the predominantly white Midwestern culture. During her 20’s she began to explore being Chinese more and connecting with others who are also multiracial Asian. Learning of the 1982 death of Chinese American man Vincent Chin during the upheaval of 2020 triggered her suppressed memory of violence that impacted her and her family when she was just 16 years old.
