Checking In with Gerald Ross

You met Gerald Ross Jr. in Episode 7: Officer Cione. He was a police officer and homicide detective in Philadelphia in the 60s and 70s -- one of the detectives who arrived at the scene of Fred Cione's murder the night Fred was shot. That part of his story is in Episode 7. But Gerald Ross has more stories to tell than just the ones that made it into the last episode. We wanted to share some of them, like the time he was shot in the line of duty. And what it was like being an African American police officer under Police Commissioner Frank Rizzo. Gerald Ross in Ashokan I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a day at the Ashokan Uke Fest in Olivebridge, NY. It was a beautiful place filled with lots of wonderful music-making. This episode is one of a few that I will release featuring instructors from the Ashokan Uke Fest. Every time I attend a festival, I plan to wander and talk to as many people as possible. But every time I get too nervous and want to just relax and go with the flow.  So in these episodes it's just chats with great players/teachers. There's tons of great insight in these here episodes.
