Homesteading: Two Years In - With Sloane Simon

Yeah, I dream about it every. Damn. meal.  While pushing down that irritating feeling that I am failing miserably.   I’ve been on my own food journey since I had my son seven years ago.  In an attempt to get rid of any baby weight and sinking into an obsessive and dangerously controlling hole a few years back, it’s been really important to me to keep my own health and nutrition in check - without passing my own emotional issues with food onto my kids. So if any of this sounds familiar - and especially these days now when you are stuck at home -  probably stress snacking more - and trying to serve healthy-ish food to your families but falling short due to limited resources, this is the episode for you. Today’s guest is Sloane Simon who is part of the federation of nutritional therapy practitioners.  Through her own journey through her roller-coaster relationship to food, she has created an entire program and focus on helping families eat healthier together - while maintaining an evolving and positive relationship to food. EP51: Got Picky Eaters? Help from Sloane Simon of Simon Says Real Food

Sloane Simon, a mom of 3 young boys living in Dallas, TX, is passionate about health and wellness and on a mission to teach her kids the importance of a real, whole foods diet. Last January she started an Instagram page (@simonsaysrealfood) with a blog and website in the works to chronicle this real food journey with her family. She shares real food recipes, recipe recommendations, tips for cooking with kids, and tips for getting kids on board with a real food diet. In September she will start the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Program through the Nutritional Therapy Association and will receive her certification next June.
