For our Wednesday health focus, we invited three health leaders to discuss the Highmark Community Suppport Platform and the nature of online searches community members have made during the pandemic. With us were Amanda Mihalko, Highmark Director of Social Determinants of Health, Dr. Elizabeth Cuevas, Allegheny Health Network Division Chief, the Center for Inclusion Health and Academic Internal Medicine, and Chelsea Tordella, Manager, AHN Healthy Food Center at Saint Vincent. We learned that people in Erie County are seeking help not only with their physical health, but for housing, food, transportation, and other basic needs, leading to a discussion of the social determinants of health.
