Imagine you’re living a good life, the life you’ve been preparing to live your whole life, the one society told you was the one for you. Now imagine that instead of feeling like it was everything you thought it’d be, you felt restless. It wasn’t really working for you. You wanted more. Something different. But you weren’t sure what another life could look like. That’s the situation our guest, Courtney Barker, found herself in several years ago. Everything looked great on the outside, but she knew that her insides could feel a whole lot more satisfied. Impulsively picking up Gretchen Rubin’s book The Happiness Project on a crazed holiday shopping trip, Courtney began a journey that’s taken her down several unexpected roads and expanded her life in ways she couldn’t have contemplated before. We’re so fortunate we were able to catch up with her during her recent whirlwind trip to town during her year of living on the road in a fifth wheel with her family. We talked about how she’s approached some of the pivotal moments in her life, what continues to motivate her and how difficult it can be to live an authentic life, but so worth it.
