Johnny Polygon is a musical artist who combines classic melodies with unconventional song structure for an alternative blend of hip hop, soul and R&amp;B. His lyrical content skews dark and cynical with love stories laced with wit.Johnny premiered on the national stage with the EP Group Hug, which URB magazine called "risky yet authentic." Johnny has collaborated with Nas, Kid CuDi, Dead Prez, Adele &amp; Green Lantern. "The Riot Song" music video from Johnny's mixtape Rebel Without Applause, appeared on MTV2, MTVU, VH1 Soul and BET Centric. The single also saw heavy radio spins on Radio Nova (France) and later included on the soundtrack for HBO's How To Make It In America (curated by Kid Cudi and Scott Vener). Johnny's full length LP, The Nothing, kicked off 2013 and was supported by 30 city tour throughout North America. 2015 brings two offerings slated for summer and fall. In anticipation for Johnny’s upcoming album, a compilation album of leaks and unreleased songs entitled Water Damage ships on the 18th of March. Short on the heels of that release, the haunting album I Love You, Goodnight will be supported by North American and European tour dates and four music video releases. This week we sat down with friend of the show Johnny Polygon. Always fun to sit and have a rambling conversation with a friend. We talk about his (very original) sleep over shows, my current rap existential crisis (honestly I kinda blacked out on this one and he became the therapist), and how it's far more intimidating to perform to 10 people than 1000 people.  –Lee

Been 3 years since I last interviewed Johnny Polygon. Not sure why I waited so long. We always have a great time shooting the shit. Those of you that've been around a while will remember him from the other show we used to do. Those of you who haven't will love his charm, wit, and easy demeanor. This convo was a bit of a break from the norm. Rather than delving too deep into Johnny's personal history, we do a lot of bullshitting, meandering down long tangents, and musing about life, which makes us realize we're a whole lot alike. Hear him talk about his father's recent passing, getting the taste of success we all chase very early in his career, and being the Justin Bieber of Tulsa, OK. –Lee
